Hey there- I’m Katie! So glad you stopped in here today. A little about me, since I’m sure that’s why you’re reading. Who am I? So glad you asked!
I am one happy wife to my husband, Mike. He’s been “my favorite husband” for 13 years and counting! (Lucille Ball reference? Anyone? No one?) We met at church when I was 15, starting dating 3 or so years later, and the rest is history, as they say. We are far from perfect, but absolutely perfect for each other. He is, without doubt, the one true love of my life. He leads our home with strength and a lot of silliness, which is essential!
I am mama to five precious babies! Four here already and one more due to arrive in March, plus one in heaven! Why yes, my hands ARE full, and my heart, and my washer–it’s always full too. Hunter is my oldest- he is 10! He loves dinosaurs, reading (that boy can DEVOUR some books), leathercrafts, and deer hunting. Gracelyn is our next who came along a couple years later! She is 8 and our lives have never been the same since she arrived. She is perpetual motion and also our most accident prone (hello, 17 stitches at just 11 months old!). She loves to play outside, help me around the house, cook, turn cartwheels, and anything else that is high energy! This girl is tiny, yet solid muscle! She did not get that from her mama. Addisyn is 6, and she is a ball of stubborn, covered in sweetness. She is always loving on everyone so hard, making cards for those she loves, giving out hugs and kisses freely! She loves unicorns, learning new things and helping mama in the kitchen, but woe be to the one who crosses her will! Ellisyn is our three-year-old baby of the family! She is all curls, giggles, and “smoochy kisses.” She keeps us in stitches laughing at her antics. She sings from morning until night, loves to color and draw (especially on chairs and walls), loves her doll babies, and loves to pretend she is a mama. She is also a good helper in the kitchen, even pitching in with after-dinner clean up time! That’s my kids– they bring me more joy and stress than you could ever imagine, and I wouldn’t trade them for any amount of money! They are treasures and I’m so thankful and blessed to be their mama.
I am a life-long learner! There is always something to be discovered if you’ll just look for it! Cooking from scratch for instance, making healthier choices for my family when it comes to food and household products. All things I am currently learning and enjoying.
I am a problem solver. I like to view a situation and come up with solutions to try. Do they always work? Of course not, but I always learn something from the experience.
I am a 5 year homeschool mama. Each school year, I learn something new and hone in more on my homeschool style. I have full faith that I will never completely figure it out, but here I am giving it my best shot every day!
Most importantly, I am the daughter of the one true King, Jesus! He is the reason for every beautiful gift in my life. I choose to seek Him first, and He has so faithfully provided for every need as I have surrendered more and more of my life to Him. I am an ever-growing and changing work in the hands of the Master. I am not perfect, nor will I ever be; but praise God, I’m not what I once was!
